Evonik in Thailand

Having been actively involved in Thailand in several different industries for more than 30 years, Evonik opened the first office in 1989. Today there is a sales office in Bangkok and one production site in Rayong producing high quality precipitated silica and Aluminium Silicates (SIPERNAT® and Ultrasil®).

To strengthen our operations in Thailand, in 2014 we have expanded our silica production site for precipitated silica in Map Ta Phut, Rayong, a joint venture between Evonik Industries and Oriental Siam Company. Our main focus is to better serve the automotive industry, food and animal feed industry, as well as the paints and coatings industry. This expansion, using Evonik’s latest technology, comprised enhancements of the production process to ensure highest levels of safety, productivity, and quality of the overall production.

As one of the leading manufacturers of silica, the precipitated silica (Sipernat® and Ultrasil®) Evonik produces can be used in tires with low rolling resistance as well as in the paints and coatings industry, as flow additives and carriers in food, cosmetics and drug production, or in manufacturing silicon applications, among others.
